This wooden lacquered bowl series, "Urushi Wan Kyo no Na," is inspired by Kyoto's famous Kyo-yasai vegetables, and this particular bowl is modeled after the Shogoin turnip. Its unique shape and color have been recreated using lacquer and wheel-turning techniques. It is a bowl that allows you to feel the "warmth of Kyoto" in your daily meals.
The designer of this product is Kazunari Miyake (miyake design), who has also worked on product designs for MUJI. While incorporating the characteristics of the Shogoin turnip motif, the designer paid close attention to the rounded sides, the height of the base, and the overall size to create a form that is convenient for everyday use.
The color options include turnip-like white, as well as black and vermillion. It can be used not only for miso soup but also as a rice bowl or serving bowl. This is a bowl you can enjoy using in your everyday life.
