Crafted by traditional artisan Kengo Yonezawa, this tea scoop is designed in the shape of a leaf. It is made using the "tatamimono" technique, where multiple layers of polished cherry bark are laminated and carved into various shapes. Various types of cherry bark, such as frosted bark that retains the natural texture of wild cherry and polished plain bark, are used. *Since natural materials are used, each piece will have unique knot patterns and color variations. To preserve the beauty and integrity of your Kabazaiku piece, please treat it with the care it deserves:
* **Respect its purpose:** Use your Kabazaiku item only for its intended purpose.
* **Avoid extreme conditions:** Refrain from storing your Kabazaiku in the refrigerator or exposing it to direct sunlight. Extreme dryness or heat can cause the bark to peel, warp the piece, or lead to discoloration. Similarly, avoid sudden temperature changes by keeping it away from hot or cold objects.
* **Gentle cleaning:** Never soak your Kabazaiku in water or place it in a dishwasher. Water is its worst enemy! If it gets wet, quickly dry it with a soft cloth. Also, avoid storing it in humid environments.
* **Handle with grace:** Your Kabazaiku piece is delicate. Please handle it with care and avoid any impacts that could cause damage.
**A Note on Unlacquered Finishes:**
To showcase the natural beauty of the birch bark, some Kabazaiku pieces are left unlacquered. This enhances their vulnerability to moisture. Please be extra vigilant in keeping these pieces dry. Should any moisture come into contact with the surface, wipe it away immediately with a soft, dry cloth.
