This is an original tea caddy by Fujiki Denshiro Shoten, made using a cylinder crafted from a mold in its natural state. The outer cylinder is made of plain bark, polished from the surface of wild cherry tree bark, allowing you to enjoy the distinctive patterns of knots that appear after polishing. Over time, the surface gains a glossy patina through handling, and its color evolves into a more subdued tone with use. By omitting the knob on the inner lid, which was the only part of the tea caddy not made using a mold, the design has been made even simpler. Additionally, the inner lid can now be used as a substitute for a tea scoop when transferring tea leaves into a teapot. Design: Kaichiro Yamada. *Please note that as natural materials are used, the knot patterns and color tones vary for each item. While we strive to present the product as accurately as possible, the color and texture may appear different depending on the shooting conditions or the display settings of your computer or smartphone. We kindly ask for your understanding in advance.

Care Guide

- Please use the product correctly according to its original purpose and intended use. - Avoid using it in the refrigerator. Extreme dryness may cause the surface bark to peel or the entire product to deform. - Do not soak it in water or hot water, and do not use it in a dishwasher. - Do not use it in a microwave or oven. - To prevent the peeling of cherry bark, avoid getting it wet. Additionally, do not leave it in a highly humid place for a long time. - To prevent warping, cracking, or discoloration, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight. - Avoid sudden temperature changes caused by contact with heated or cooled items, as this may lead to discoloration, warping, or cracking. - Handle with care to prevent damage, as strong impacts from drops or external forces may cause breakage. Among kabazaiku (cherry bark crafts), polished products are not coated to allow customers to enjoy the natural texture of the material. Therefore, please avoid moisture as much as possible. If moisture does come into contact with the product, wipe it off immediately with a soft, dry cloth. When closing the lid, align the joint between the body and the lid. Both the body and lid are made using the same wooden mold, so aligning the joint will allow for a smooth closure. Please note that as each piece is handcrafted, there may be slight individual differences in how the outer and inner lids fit. Tea caddies maintain appropriate humidity to preserve tea leaves in good condition. View full details
