This is a Japanese plate created by Noboru Yamada, a traditional craftsman. The skills of Noboru Yamada, a Kyoto kimono gold leaf artisan, have been captured in this glass vessel. As each piece is handmade, no two are exactly alike.
Yakibaku Kirebaku Kuroji "焼き箔切れ箔黒地" describes a technique where heat-treated gold leaf, cut into precise shapes, is applied to a black lacquered surface. This creates a visually stunning effect with the shimmering gold contrasting against the deep black.
