Tsukiawase "月袷" Dessert Fork
Tsukiawase "月袷" Dessert Fork
"漆磨 SHI-MOA" is a brand that fuses the metalworking techniques of Tsubame City in Niigata Prefecture with the traditional craft of "Yamanaka Lacquerware" from Kaga City in Ishikawa Prefecture. The items, which combine long-established cultural traditions, exude a modern atmosphere while retaining traditional aspects.
This lacquerware, a fusion of "stainless steel x lacquer," was born from the skills and challenges of lacquer artisans. By applying lacquer, made from the sap of the lacquer tree, to stainless steel, it creates a warmth and depth not found in metal alone.
"Kagerou" and "Tsuki awase" are unique items, each one handcrafted by lacquer artisans on high-quality Tsubame stainless steel. Enjoy the changing appearance of the lacquer as you cherish these pieces over time.
For this particular piece, Kanazawa gold leaf is applied by artisans using a technique called "kirimawashi" (cutting and turning), so no two patterns are the same. To bring out the utmost elegance, a traditional Yamanaka lacquer technique called "fuki-urushi" (wiping lacquer) is applied, preserving the texture of the gold leaf as much as possible. A matte finish creates a soft glow reminiscent of moonlight
