This is a work by Noboru Yamada, a traditional craftsman. The skills of Noboru Yamada, a Kyoto kimono gold leaf artisan, have been captured in this glass vessel. As each piece is handmade, no two are exactly alike.
Yakihaku Kirihaku "焼箔切箔" describes a technique where heat-treated gold leaf, cut into precise shapes, is applied to a surface for decoration. This creates a striking visual effect with the shimmering, warm tones of the gold and the intricate patterns formed by the cut pieces
