The transparent acrylic plate makes the Ise Katagami stand out and creates a new worldview. By illuminating it from the front, you can also create a silhouette of the pattern on the back. It is an interior decoration designed to match both Western and Japanese-style rooms.
With its self-standing legs, you can place it on a table to easily enhance the atmosphere of your space.
[Rabbits on the Wave]
The cherry blossom is a flower that represents Japan and has been loved by people since ancient times. Both its beautiful blooming and its fleeting scattering can be likened to the Japanese spirit.
[Sakura with Tomoe] The tomoe is said to be derived from the magatama, a comma-shaped jewel. It is also thought to represent the swirling of water, and has been used as a charm against fire and as the emblem of Hachiman, the god of war. Both motifs are auspicious patterns with deep connections to the Japanese people.
[Ise Katagami] This is a traditional craft that is hand-carved for dyeing patterns on kimonos. In the late 19th century, it traveled to Europe and the United States, where it greatly influenced art movements such as Art Nouveau in France, Arts & Crafts in England, and Jugendstil in Germany. It is a "design that the world fell in love with."
A 100-year-old Ise Katagami manufacturer carefully selected the pattern and had it carved by a skilled Ise Katagami artisan.
